How to Play Wander

Wander is a top-down dungeon explorer. Each run takes you through three procedurally generated floors. Navigate the glowing corridors using WASD or arrow keys, collect yellow star keys, and use them to unlock magenta door tiles. Reach the pulsing green exit portal before the countdown timer hits zero to advance to the next floor.

Red sentinel enemies patrol corridors on fixed paths. Contact with a sentinel costs one heart. You start with three hearts — lose all three and the run ends. Clearing a floor awards points equal to remaining time × floor number × 10, so fast clears on later floors are where the big scores live.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do keys and doors work in Wander?
Yellow star keys are scattered across each dungeon floor. Walk over a key to pick it up — your key count in the HUD increases by one. Magenta door tiles block passage until you have at least one key; stepping into a door tile automatically spends a key and opens it. Plan your route so you collect keys before reaching locked doors.
How is the score calculated in Wander?
When you reach the exit portal on each floor, you earn points equal to the remaining timer multiplied by the current floor number multiplied by 10. For example, clearing Floor 2 with 30 seconds remaining earns 600 points. Losing health to sentinels wastes time and reduces your final score, so avoidance is rewarded.
What is Daily mode in Wander?
Daily mode generates a dungeon layout seeded from today's date, so every player worldwide sees the exact same floor layout on any given day. This makes it fair to compare scores on the leaderboard. Casual mode uses a random seed each run so the layout changes every game. Switch between modes on the start screen.
Does Wander work on mobile?
Yes. The canvas scales to any screen width and touch-action: none prevents accidental scrolling. On touch devices, an on-screen D-pad appears automatically below the game canvas. The canvas also uses pixelated rendering so it stays crisp at any zoom level.
