How to Play Tileshift

Tileshift is a neon sliding-tile puzzle. A grid of numbered tiles has one empty slot. Click or tap any tile directly adjacent to the blank and it slides into that spot. Rearrange all tiles into ascending numerical order with the blank in the bottom-right corner to win.

Tips and Strategy

• Solve rows top to bottom. Lock tiles 1 and 2 into the top row first, then work down row by row. This structured approach prevents undoing earlier progress.
• Use keyboard arrows for speed. Arrow keys move faster than repeated clicks. Left, right, up, and down each slide the adjacent tile into the blank from the corresponding direction.
• Count moves, not time. In Classic mode your score is purely move-count based. Slow, deliberate moves that avoid backtracking earn a higher score than rushed sequences.
• Plan the last two rows together. The bottom two rows of a 4x4 grid must be solved simultaneously. Treating them as one unit avoids the classic 13-14-15 lock-up.
