Why Card Games
A deck of 52 cards is a remarkably efficient randomiser, and centuries of play have sanded these rulesets down to the point where very little is arbitrary. That shows up as replay value: the board is different every deal, but the decisions repeat, so you get better at the game rather than at one particular layout. It is the same reason a solitaire deal you lose does not feel wasted.
They also suit interrupted play better than almost any other genre. A card game pauses cleanly — there is no falling piece, no timer bleeding out, no enemy waiting mid-swing. Put the phone down between tricks and the state is exactly where you left it. Hearts and Cribbage additionally give you an opponent to read rather than a clock to beat, which is a different and longer-lasting kind of difficulty than reflex games offer.

How to pick a card game
Pick by whether you want an opponent or not. Solitaire is you against the shuffle — no one is trying to beat you, and a lost deal is usually the deal's fault rather than yours. That makes it the right choice for genuinely idle play, the kind you do while half-listening to something else.
If you want someone to outplay, Hearts and Cribbage both give you that, but in different flavours. Hearts is a game of avoidance and reading intent: you are mostly trying not to win tricks, and the tension comes from guessing whether an opponent is collecting hearts to shoot the moon. Cribbage is arithmetic under pressure — the scoring combinations are fixed and knowable, so skill is about seeing them faster and discarding to the crib well.
If you want the shortest session, Hearts plays a hand at a time and stops cleanly whenever you want. Cribbage runs to 121 points and is the longest commitment of the three, though it also pegs along faster than its reputation suggests.

Yes, and no. Every card game on Vibe Arcade runs free in your browser with no account, no download and no install. Scores are kept in your browser, and submitting to a leaderboard only asks for a display name — never an email address or a password.
Which card game should I start with?
Solitaire, if you want to play immediately without learning anything — Klondike is the version most people already know, and there is no opponent to read. Start with Hearts if you want an opponent and already know trick-taking, and with Cribbage if you want the deepest of the three and do not mind learning a scoring system first.
What does shooting the moon mean in Hearts?
Normally you want to avoid taking hearts and the Queen of Spades, because each heart costs a point and the Queen costs thirteen. But if you take every single one of them in a hand, the scoring inverts: you take zero and each opponent takes 26. That is shooting the moon, and the risk is that missing even one card leaves you with almost the whole 26 yourself.
Do I need to know cribbage scoring to play?
No. The game counts every hand for you and shows a breakdown of where each point came from — fifteens, pairs, runs, flush and nobs — so you can learn the combinations by watching them get scored rather than by memorising a table first. A quick-rules panel is available in-game at any time.
Can I play these card games on a phone?
Yes. All three are touch-first and scale to narrow screens, with tap-to-select-then-tap-to-place rather than drag-only controls in Solitaire. They also pause cleanly, so switching apps mid-hand does not lose your position.
