How to Play Anagram

Anagram is a free online word-scramble puzzle where you race a 3-minute timer to spell every valid word from a 7-letter rack. Letters use standard Scrabble point values — tap or click any rack tile to move it to the word-formation slots above, then hit SUBMIT (or press Enter) to score. Valid words must be 3+ letters, use only the letters in your rack, and appear in the common-English dictionary. Press SHUFFLE (or S) to rearrange the rack for fresh inspiration.

Scoring System

• 3-letter words score letter-sum × 1.0 × multiplier
• 4-letter words score letter-sum × 1.2 × multiplier
• 5-letter words score letter-sum × 1.5 × multiplier
• 6-letter words score letter-sum × 2.0 × multiplier
• 7-letter pangrams score letter-sum × 3.0 × multiplier + 40 flat, PLUS 5 seconds added to the timer
• Rack clear bonus: find every valid word from your rack → 50 × multiplier + auto-refresh with higher multiplier

Strategy Tips

• Hunt pangrams early. Using all 7 letters adds 5 seconds to the clock — that time extension compounds across pangrams found later in the round.
• Clear the rack for the multiplier. The rack-clear multiplier (×1.0 → ×1.2 → ×1.5 → ×2.0) is where the high scores come from. Racing to clear racks beats hunting individual large words.
• Try common 3-letter combos first. "ACE", "ATE", "EAR", "OAR" and similar short words rack up points fast and help you discover which letters are available for longer words.
